PHOENIX, AZ, June 2, 2026. Common Ground has authored a proprietary standard for generative engine optimization (GEO), the practice of making content visible and citable to AI search and answer engines, and has deployed it across its portfolio companies.
The standard runs 22 points, covering entity disambiguation, structured answer-shaped content, schema markup, and a tiered citation architecture that treats authority citations as the training signal they actually are. Deployment is concrete: machine-readable llms.txt files now ship in 19 portfolio codebases, and the portfolio's public reference layer is built page-by-page to be quoted by answer engines, not just ranked by search.
Traditional SEO optimizes for a click. GEO optimizes for being the answer. The portfolio is now instrumented for both.
