The Shelby retail store in Gardena was built out in one corner of a working licensing office. One door opened onto a garage full of very expensive cars, and staff worked in a small office right above us.

Instead of taping plastic over the garage door, we built a temporary sealed wall across it. We moved the staff over to the Shelby Building and walled that section off too.

Plastic is the standard answer for dust control, and it fails quietly. Dust creeps into everything. On a job sitting next to those cars and those people, I could not afford a quiet failure.

The store got built while the licensing office kept working around it.

Protect what sits next to the work as if it were the work. A temporary wall costs more than plastic and a lot less than one damaged car or one angry office.
