Sublime Medical was my first fractional seat, in 2015: three cosmetic dermatology practices, full schedules, and a back office that could not turn the work into cash. I took the chief operating officer seat for four months.
What I found was not a collections problem, which is what everyone had decided it was. It was a software problem and a housekeeping problem. They were not paying for the right billing software, what they had was not set up correctly, the billing codes were out of date, and the paperwork in the office had fallen apart. I put a weekly billing-code check in place, rebuilt the paperwork system, and after four months insurance billing was up 42 percent month over month.
They kept both systems after I left, which is the result I actually care about. Walking in for one stated problem and fixing the real one underneath it, that is the clearest description of what I have done for clients ever since.
