Keller Williams wanted a roughly 5,000 square foot LA office near LAX, mostly open community space. The fight was over how many closed private offices they needed, because people talk loud or need privacy.
We solved privacy with about four freestanding sound pods in the open space instead of adding walls, and we offered soundproofing up front.
A major brand makes branding easy. The guidelines, the phone booths, the finishes are already decided. The real design question was noise against workflow, and they didn't want to spend until they saw how it worked.
They declined the soundproofing at the start. That was their "let's not spend money until we see how it actually works." About two months after move-in it was a little noisy, they called back, and it went in. Never another problem after that.
Offer the fix early, let the client decline it, and make coming back easy. A client who picks the upgrade after living in the space never argues about it.
