Questions about A five-star barbershop, answered in the words of the people who did the work. The engagement itself is on its own page.

Which assumption changed most after it was checked against the state's records?

The owner believed the affluent side of his metro had no real barber school, so a premium school would fill an empty slot. We checked that first against the Arizona Barbering and Cosmetology Board's own list of licensed schools, and the area was not empty. Several licensed schools already operated there. None had a premium, brand-led identity tied to a name customers already trusted, which is a narrower claim and a true one, so the model was rebuilt on it before any projection meant anything. Then the funding timing changed the rollout. The school has to survive its first years on cash, payment plans, private lending and workforce funding, because veterans' benefits and federal aid open later.
