How was the validated labor rate carried into the estimate and defended with the owner?
We tested it by building it ourselves, in our LÏEF building downtown and at Midtown. We trained our crews there on a very similar installation, all interior partition walls. Then we showed the owner the hours and the finished product. That is the best way to defend a number.
Which labor assumption did the hands-on installations most validate or challenge?
Speed and difficulty, and whether the trades took to it and liked doing it. We had not really used that product much before.
