What it is
Almost everything written about peptides comes from someone selling them: a vendor, an affiliate, a clinic with a program to fill. What independent material existed was thin or tied to vendor discount codes. The closest independent profile site ran vendor discount codes. Reptides, the nearest direct competitor, is a paid, login-gated wiki at about seventy dollars a year. Neither grades the evidence. Neither separates scientific support from real-world signal. Neither tells you what it would take to verify a claim.
Jesse came to peptides late, and skeptical. He talked to his physician, ran every blood test he could, read everything he could find, and talked to nearly every peptide source in Phoenix. It still went wrong. About two months of studying, stopping, restarting and guessing followed, and 22 pounds of bodyweight were lost, 14 of them muscle. The most likely cause was a contaminated vial of bacteriostatic water, the overlooked liquid everything gets mixed with. That is what guessing cost him.
He built the thing he wished had existed. Ground Truth Peptides was built in conjunction with Dr. Matt Zanis, PT, DPT, FAAOMPT, the founder of Rooted in MVMNT, a Duke-trained doctor of physical therapy and fellowship-trained manual therapist who maintains contract advisory with US Olympic organizations. Matt needed a place to send his own clients for accurate, current peptide research, separate from anything he or Common Ground sells. The site gives him his own page as a lead contributor. It does not put him on the homepage, and it does not call him a peptide authority.
What Common Ground did
- Built 42 graded compound profiles using parallel research workflows (up to 19 agents per run), with output going to JSON and scripts reshaping it into typed data so the catalog is reproducible, not hand-typed.
- Designed a four-lens grading model: Does the science back it? Do real people feel it? Is it safe? Could it be placebo? Each lens answers separately, each letter carries a plain word beside it, and nothing collapses into a single score. Added a fifth axis, legal access, as eight tiers from FDA-approved to research-only, kept outside the Ground Truth Score so a vote does not move a grade.
- Applied the grade-doesn't-move rule in July 2026 when an FDA advisory committee recommended six peptides for the 503A Bulks List. The evidence did not change between July 22 and July 25. The scientific review produced alongside the vote found human safety data insufficient and immunogenicity risk unassessed. No grade moved. As of October 3 FDA had proposed no rule on any of the six. The rule held.
- Built the Truth Tracker: users upload a blood panel or DEXA scan, Claude reads every measured value as structured rows, stores results per-user with row-level security. A 79-marker blood panel reads for about 34 cents.
- Built the daily news sweep: at 13:00 UTC each day, Claude with web search checks for new peptide developments. Every finding lands as a pending proposal. Nothing goes live without a human review at the gated desk page.
- Built /plan (protocol cost estimator and dosing sheet, no checkout), /testable (verifiability hub showing what labs can confirm for each of the 42 compounds; about two-thirds have no lab that can tell you they are working), and Ask Ground Truth (answers only from the graded corpus, names the grade, links the source, refuses prescriptive dosing).
- Fixed a Supabase RLS gap (Supabase's newer publishable API keys do not map requests to the anonymous role; a SECURITY DEFINER function accepts a batch, forces every row to pending, and bypasses the problem) and a client-side data leak (internal vendor fields in the planning page's JavaScript bundle that the page never displayed; stripped on the server so a regression would not compile).
- Shipped the Common Ground credit, footer module and structured data. Rechecked regulatory status to October 3. Moved all six PCAC compound profiles to past tense on the legal status. Removed Google Analytics. Removed 493 em-dashes. Closed the API and both gated pages to crawlers.
Results
- Live and public at groundtruthpeptides.com since June 24, 2026. 42 graded compounds, 77 URLs in the live sitemap, 7 API routes, 52 products in the planning tool, 29 monitored sources, 11 commits across the history.
- The graded index, grade board, Ask Ground Truth, Truth Tracker (signup open after a private beta), /testable, /plan, reconstitution calculator, a dosing hub, a blends page, a genome page, five sourced posts, expert track records and a news feed current to October 3 are all live.
- The grade board survived its first major regulatory event: the July 2026 FDA advisory committee vote on seven peptides. Not one grade moved. A site that had raised six grades in July would be explaining itself as of October 3.
- Free forever. No store, no vendor money, no paid tier, no affiliate link. One vendor kickback would end what makes the site worth anything.
Where we use it
Jesse Fowler uses Ground Truth himself, and it started inside his own Health Vault: a peptide encyclopedia in April, a tracker in May, a dose canon in June, built because guessing had already cost him two months. A week after that canon landed, Ground Truth took the reference public, so the grades he reads are the same ones anyone reads, with no vendor money behind them. What that stretch taught us is on every compound page: what the evidence supports, what a lab can confirm, and what is still a guess.
