What it is
Jackie Allison has cared for newborns for 35 years, overnight, in family homes, holds a Newborn Care Specialist credential (2012) and a Newborn Sleep Specialist certification (2024), and has written three children's picture books. A Phoenix parent searching for her found almost none of it.
Research on day one changed the job. Her care business had no site, her old one was dead while three profiles still linked to it, her profiles disagreed on her city, her years and her book count, and a licensed clinician with the same name sits high in the results. For a caregiver who is not a medical provider, an engine blending the two is the worst error it can make. So the brief became one clean, cited record of who she is, on her own name's domain.
What Common Ground did
- Built the identity first: a reference page at /jackie-allison written like an encyclopedia entry, with an infobox, a line that tells her apart from others with her name, and a numbered source behind every fact; each credential shown with its issuing body and year; structured data tying her, her business, five services, three books and her credentials into one entity linked to her verified profiles; a plain-text summary at /llms.txt; search and AI crawlers invited by name.
- Wrote it in her words and kept it honest: copy from her own emails and documents with a source log per line; never a medical claim; family letters as written, originals offered only redacted; a city, never a street; the inquiry form built but held off, with call and email in its place, until delivery is wired.
- Designed it around the night: the site opens at 7 pm with a sunset sky and a night scene, and one tap turns it to 7 am and her morning photograph. Her own photographs lead wherever one exists; she sent new ones three times in the first two days and each batch was live the same night. Still under reduced motion, whole with scripts off.
- Launched with the tools in her name: Google Search Console verified, sitemap submitted, Bing notified through IndexNow, analytics in a separate account that can be handed to her. Search Console's first report flagged one non-critical date-format warning; the fix was live the next morning.
Results
- A primary source where there was none: one domain on her name that says who she is, what she holds, where she works and how to reach her, with a source beside each claim.
- Lighthouse mobile on the live build, September 30, 2026: 100 for Performance, Accessibility and Best Practices; largest image painted in 1.5 seconds on the home page.
- A 110-point search and AI-readiness checklist closed at 89 items passed or fixed, with 17 waiting on a human, such as accounts only she can claim.
- A build that guards its own facts: no release ships unless every structured-data reference resolves and every page has one title, one heading, a canonical address and described images.
