What it is
Chicago had no Nike space that joined brand energy to a working store. Six Points opened in April 2010 with boutique partner St. Alfred, and connected with the city through art, product customization and sport.
What Khounlavong did
- Led the commerce and marketplace portion of the opening.
- Managed stock to sales and built a sales tracking sheet so the brand team could read retail performance.
- Mapped Chicago into five consumer zones and re-tiered every Nike Sportswear door. St. Alfred was raised to the top tier.
- Carried the space through a running chapter and a basketball chapter after the World Cup.
Results
- Thirteen weeks: 1,235 units, 50.2% sell-through, 48% gross margin.
- Press on opening: Hypebeast, Highsnobiety, Freshness, Chicagoist and Thrillist, April 2010.
- His words: it "has literally become a second job," and it "officially put Chicago on the map."
